Hyper active and moody at the same time?

My day was calm until my  miss Kelsee came home with her dad after he got off work. She stayed at grandma's last night and was there till about 4pm today. First thing she was doing when they got home was trying to get candy out of daddy's pocket but we typically eat at 5pm so he was telling her no. Next thing i know she's over on the love seat bawling cause she wants candy. Really? LOL Then once she got over that she was bouncing off the walls and hyper as all get out and, wouldn't settle down for anything. Then next thing that happened was Tyler had grabbed my friends little girls gloves off the stand that she left yesterday and was playing with them. Nate had her take them from him and bring them to me, well i told her put them back on the stand and she started to repeat what Nate said, i told her i heard and she still went on repeating him so i yelled at her cause i was a little annoyed and a little tired next thing i hear is Nate telling me to calm down and she was in her room crying again? What is the deal with that, must be a new thing cause she makes us yell alot and never crys. She got in trouble alot tonight and cried alot also, i think she was just overly tired from all the fun she had at grandma's house!
Nate and i finally got caught up on laundry folding this evening before the kids were put to bed...i hate folding laundry! LOL So now i can get caught up on my laundry, i haven't been doing as much cause both baskets were full and so i've only been doing a load a day so i only have to fold the load on the bed! LOL Washed some of the kids clothes from Christmas and the other load is in the dryer of the rest of their new Christmas clothes! Both kids wore new jammies to bed and of course i got some pictures!!Which i wanted to upload but apparently my computer isn't gonna let me, my signal is poor! I will just download them to my fb tomorrow if i get a chance but they are totally cute pictures! So if your a friend of mine on Facebook you'll see them in the Tyler and Kelsee folders! Tyler is wearing very soft a warm jammies, that really aren't jammies its a one piece outfit but he doesn't wear those anymore and it was too cute to pass up. Its his second one piece outfit that i've bought that i use as jammies! LOL Then Kelsee has on ICarly Jammies that she got from her daddy, i'm not a fan of her watching Icarly but he has let her for so long its a lost cause. She was being a major ham for pictures tonight, so i got some really good ones of her. Then i got one of Tyler where he's saying cheese...its so cute. He's starting to pick up a word a week i swear, his vocabulary has skyrocketed in the last three weeks, he must say about 6 new words! Its awesome, cause we were starting to worry about his speech, he was only saying like 3. Alright well its getting late and i want to be in bed before midnight tonight! LOL Its 11:41pm....not much time! Have a good day tomorrow everyone!

christmas festivities

We celebrated Christmas with my mom , Brason, step dad, brother, sister in law, niece and nephew on December 18th. Because my niece and Kelsee's birthdays are December 14th and December 19th we also  celebrated birthdays for them. We opened presents, everyone was pleased with their presents and then we ate dinner! Dinner was delicious, especially my favorite (Deviled Eggs), and then we had birthday cake! My mom made the girls a butterfly cake!
The cake was delicious and Kelsee had part of the purple! Her cousin Trevor originally took it from her, i have a picture of her pouting but Aunt Christal gave it back to her and gave Trevor the pink wing part.
The next time we celebrated for Christmas was Tuesday December 21st, we had a gift exchange with a friend of mine and her two kids. The kids got gifts for each other, Tyler got from them a box of fruity Cheerios and a Christmas themed Cheerios book. Its cute it has little holes in certain places on the pages where you put the Cheerios, i'd never seen this book before! Kelsee got a Princess DS game, which she opened immediately and began to play it. Her being herself, was trying to keep it away from my friends little girls eyes to see the screen, and not being nice. I don't know why she does that sometimes, cause just 5 minutes before she got the present they were playing in her room happily. My friend still has a present for Tyler but last we seen each other she hadn't received it in the mail yet! I'm super excited, as i think its a cloth diaper....!!!! I could be wrong..never know! We got her kids pjs and a shirt for her boy(same age as Tyler), and Knee highs, Dress up shoes and black sparkly leggings for her daughter ( year younger then Kelsee). We had a great time with them, always do!
Christmas eve we went to my dads house and the kids opened all gifts that said from mommy, daddy, Kelsee or Tyler. So they each opened about 5, and i opened my new sheets! They are our first pair of flannel sheets, and they were nice and toasty last night and very soft! I got them from my husband, and then my dad and his g/f were like you bought her sheets for Christmas? I don't see whats wrong with that but apparently my dad would catch hell if he bought her anything for the household for Christmas or birthday! I could care less, i'm still using it! LOL The kids stayed at grandpas Christmas eve while mommy and daddy went home. We had to peel mushrooms, yuck my hands smelled horrible afterwards. We didn't get to bed till about 1am and got up at 7:15am. Got down to my dads Christmas day about 9am and the kids got to open their Santa presents from us. TONS of toys and a few clothes!
Tyler with his first present Christmas morning, and in his Ooga booga diaper that we got from diaper swapping with a friend from Ohio!
Kelsee with one of her morning presents, she's so excited to play this maybe we'll get it out next weekend when we're not as busy the whole weekend! In the afternoon my dads g/fs daughter, her husband and their little girl and then my dads g/fs son, and my aunt and her bf came over for lunch and more gift unwrapping. We had a non traditional lunch from Casa's, Casa's salad, Lasagna, stuffed mushrooms (made by Nate), some noodle and sausage concoction my dads g/f made, and crescent rolls that were coated inside and out with garlic butter. We all got some awesome gifts and Christmas couldn't have been better this year! I'm so glad its finally over, but now i have a day to clean my house and get in order, cause we have a play date schedule for Tuesday morning! Happy holidays everyone i hope yours was as great as ours!!

Holiday spirit!

I have no holiday spirit! LOL I've been trying to get some but its just not happening, i've been listening to Christmas music in the vehicle every time i drive, which is alot. Still no Christmas tree in our house, and there probably won't be one this year, but there are stockings above the fireplace! And i've thought about hanging lights on the mantle, maybe i'll do that tomorrow! LOL We don't spend Christmas at our house, so really the no tree is not a huge deal, my kids still see a tree at grandpa's house and his is real. My husband and I spent two hours last Friday wrapping gifts, so glad to have that done with! We already celebrated one Christmas with my mom, step dad, Brason (their foster son), my brother and his family, last Saturday. This week we will be going to my dads Christmas eve possibly staying the night, and then eating an nontraditional Christmas dinner at 12pm, and opening presents with my dad, his g/f, my little sister, and my dads g/fs kids at 1pm. Then we might go to my husbands best friends parents house to spend some time with their family and get the kids gifts from them, they are Nate's second family, since all his are out of state. Then we're not celebrating with Nate's dad until January 8th, because we're busy up until then, and he lives in Michigan.

I got a sewing machine for Christmas (technically thanksgiving) and i'm so excited to learn to sew cloth diapers. My first attempt at a newborn diaper was miserable, and i didn't take any pictures. I made a couple cloth wipes with the extra fabric that i had left over from the first diaper, and then i got a different fabric out and made another newborn diaper for my daughters dolls. Here's how it turned out........

I'm pretty proud that i'm getting better at making them. I'm going to add velcro tomorrow, it will be my first time attempting that! LOL Wish me luck! For having not sewn since 6th grade, i think i'm doing fairly well. My husband learned alot about the machine and different settings when looking into buying it for me, so when we first opened it he played around with it, while i watched. And if i have a problem with threading the bobbin or something its nice that he can help! If there's anyone who reads this that sews and has pointers, i'd be open to hearing them!
Alright well I'd better get to bed, but before i go to bed i'd like to request a few prayers. A friend of mine's daughter had more tests done today with her blood, she's had a pic line in and went today to see about getting it taken out i do believe, and now they think she might have something else going on with her blood. Please pray its nothing serious and that she gets the pic line taken out before Christmas, she's had it for two weeks, going on three! Second i'd like another prayer request for another friend of mine, her mom is having surgery on a heart valve (pretty sure that's what it is) tomorrow, and i would just ask that you keep her in your thoughts in the morning and that everything goes smoothly. Their family has been through alot this month already, they need good news before the holidays! Ok one more, another friend of mine needs your prayers and thoughts for her dad, he had surgery today. So far he's doing well but you just never know, i ask that you make healing prayers and that he continues to do well in his recovery! Thank you everyone and have a wonderful evening!!

Another year gone....

My Kelsee turned 5 years old yesterday....how can that be? Seems like just yesterday she was learning to walk and talk. LOL Ok maybe not just yesterday but, it sure doesn't seem like 5 years has gone by. Here is a picture of Kelsee when she was 1 year old opening presents her 2nd christmas! She has grown so much since this picture its insane, (sorry for the red eyed baby!) LOL

I woke Kelsee up with singing the happy birthday song to her, and first thing she said when she was awake while standing on her bed, "Mommy now that i'm 5 years old i'm taller!" To which i told her no Kelsee you are not taller you are just older, she tried argueing her case but in the end dropped it. Then about an hour or so later we were getting our coats on and getting ready to leave for the library, i notice that she's having trouble with her coat, and she says "mommy now that i'm 5 can i say......" she left a blank. I figured she was meaning a cuss word like S H I T or somthing, so i said no just cause your older does not mean you can say bad words. Her reply was "but audri does"? Audri is her friend who is 22 days older then her, i'm guessing she does not say bad words but i just told Kelsee i don't care what Audri does she's not my child. Later that day she told me she wanted to say dangit...i don't know why she would ask if that was ok cause she says that all the time. LOL Going back to earlier that day at the library, she asks "mom now that i'm 5 do i have to wear my winter coat over my fleece?" Yes Kelsee you still have to stay warm even though you are older, doesn't mean things are going to change! LOL Anyone else have a 5 year old that asks silly questions like this? We took her to Chuckie Cheese in the evening just a small family get together for her birthday and she had a blast of course! I forgot my camera in my mom's van earlier that day, so all my pictures are on my phone and i haven't looked for the USB cord to transfer them! But she got tons of presents and still has 3 more to open from mommy and daddy that, Nate decided he didn't want to take to Chuckie Cheese. He didn't want people to think she was a spoiled brat....even though everyone knows how spoiled rotten she is! LOL Daddy's little princess!

I got Tylers results back from his poop test, everything was normal. Now i'm supposed to get some blood tests done, which if i can find the paper i'm thinking i might get them done Friday. I can't remember what they are for though at this moment! LOL He is still going to Indianapolis in january, except i need to call and reschedule an appoinment because i double booked today. I now have the Endocrinologist and genetics appt at 2pm! LOL ooops I'm hoping one of them has sa later appointment and we can keep all 3 appointments on January 14th, makes it much more simpler for our family and taking off work for my husband.

In the meantime, i'm trying to get different products that i'm fans of on Facebook to let me review their products and possibly do giveaways! So stay tuned for that, i'm sure you'd love to join in on the fun if i get to do a giveaway or two!

scheduled

Today i finally got two out of the three appointments scheduled for Tyler but, not until January. January 21st he is going to see an endocrinologist and a electrophysiologist Dr at 10am and 2pm. We have to take him to Riley hospital which is in Indianapolis Indiana, i think its a 2-3 hour drive for us. December and January can't go quick enough to get these appointments over with...

The other doctor he's going to see is in the metabolism department at Riley children's hospital but i'm waiting for them to call me, they like to talk to the patient to schedule the appointment not the nurse. Hopefully we can get that scheduled either the Thursday January 20th, or later in the day on the 21st. My husband isn't crazy about taking off a Friday as it is the biggest day for his pay during the week but, like i told him i could get someone else to go with me but i'd really prefer my husband be there.

Next week Tyler goes back to the gastrointologist doctor for another four week checkup, they have yet to call with the results of his poop testing. I've also made two phone calls this week to the hospital and a doctor's office and left messages for them to call me back....and haven't heard anything from them either. Ugh, very frustrating guess i have to call again if i want it done. I'm hoping the gastrointologist can maybe scratch off us going to the endocrinologist if Tyler is gaining weight better now that he's on the appetite enhancer medicine twice a day now. He seems to be eating a ton better and more often!

Today we woke up to snow...not my favorite but here is Tyler after we took sister to school, he loves his new hat! He used to pull them off as soon as i put them on his head, but he's doing so much better which is great cause i'm determined to have no ear infections this winter! The hat also came with gloves and a scarf, his sister stole the scarf and wore it to school! LOL

So i am kinda having an issue with Kelsee's coming home after school, maybe people who read this can give me input. I asked one of the mom's if she would mind bringing Kelsee home on the days she was able to which originally was Monday and Wednesday, and then her Teacher would bring her home on Thursdays. I have someone bring her home because she goes to preschool from 12:30-2:45, Tyler Naps from 1pm-anywhere from 3:30-4 pm usually. Even if i laid him down as soon as we got back he'd most likely still nap till 3:30pm, i really hate to have to cut his nap shorter cause it'd mess up his entire schedule. He'd probably be ready for bed earlier then 8pm, which means he'd only get to see his dad for an hour or so some afternoons, and he'd be up an hour or so earlier, which he's up at 7:30 or 8am as it is. I've been thinking of asking the teacher if i could maybe have another mom's phone number that picks their child up all the time, and is there more then not there. Cause the mom that brings Kelsee home now, if her son doesn't want to stay at school, they leave, or like today she didn't have room in her van i guess? I'm fine with her not wanting to bring her home, i'll find someone else but i did ask her originally and she said she didn't mind? UGH its frustrating. Today Nate was home before Kelsee which was a half hour after Kelsee was out of school, and i had gotten Tyler ready and was walking out the door cause i was freaking out that she wasn't home yet. Nate went and picked her up, and she was helping the teacher clean and decorate the room..which is fine cause Kelsee loves to do that stuff. But i wish she would have called or something to let me know, cause she's usually always home 10-15 minutes after school, and when that long had passed i was freaking out. She felt bad and apologized to Nate and he told her it was fine just sometimes i panic about certain things. Almost as if i shouldn't have panicked? But in this day and age its hard to say what could happen and the things that were going through my head weren't good. Another thing is, i'm thinking of doing in home daycare starting in January so then i'll need someone to pick Kelsee up for school and bring her home...i just don't know what to do. I wish there was someone close to me that could do it, so i didn't have to ask a stranger but there isn't anyone that would be able to. Ok enough ranting i better start getting Tyler ready for bed its 7:30pm, another night he probably wont see daddy before he goes to bed. :(

ps. sorry so long! LOL

Exhausted

Thanksgiving was great, food was awesome! We had ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, stuffing, a vegetable medley, cranberries, rolls, deviled eggs and sweet potatoes. Everyone was so stuffed they didn't hardly eat dessert, so one pie was taken home whole by the person who brought it. Another pie will be going to our thanksgiving/Christmas get together on Sunday, and the dessert truffle that was brought was mostly taken home by the maker as well.
Black Friday shopping but on Thursday....boy oh boy did i not realize what i was getting into! LOL I've been black Friday shopping at Toys R Us 2 other times but this year would have to be the worst wait in line outside and inside EVER! Toys R Us opened last night at 10pm, i planned to go wait in line at 9:30pm but ended up not getting there till 10pm, the line was 500 people deep or more at that point. I took my 10 year old sister with me (she wanted to come but pretty sure she'll never make that mistake again), we waited outside for one 1/2 hours before we finally got in the store. Luckily i had made sure she dressed warm, so she really didn't complain a whole lot of being cold. Once in the store it took me about 20 minutes or so to get what i wanted and find the end of the treacherous line that was literally wrapped around the whole store. I heard one lady say at one point she heard a woman was misdirected and ended up going around the store twice while waiting in line to purchase her items. My dad called while we were outside still about 11pm or so, and again at 12:50am at which i told him we were in line to purchase our things but it would not be any time soon that we'd be doing so. My phone was dieing and so it didn't die all the way i shut it off. Finally around 2:30am we were checking out, and here is my dad coming behind me at the checkout lane? Apparently he had tried calling several times and since he hadn't heard from me in an hour and 1/2 he was worried sick... WOW! So i didn't get to purchase the one toy i had purposely gone to get, because i apparently didn't read and it was a 5am-1pm item....GRRRRR. But i did save $60 and got two big bags full of things, and ended up only spending 60 or so of our money because i had a $75 gift card that Tyler had won at a company picnic for Nate's work in August. I finally got back to my dads around 3am, and thought about waking back up at 5am to try and get the toy online...but quickly decided my worth was more important! LOL Tyler was awake at 6am, but i got him to go back to sleep upstairs in a playpen. My husband called me at 8am, and was being grouchy and i'm sure i was but i was seriously very tired. I got to sleep till almost 9:30am, it was very nice! My little sister was still sleeping at 11:30 when i left for my dentist appointment! LOL Yay, Kelsee says i must be in the no cavity club since i didn't have any! LOL I would have posted pictures of Kelsee in her cute new dress and fashion boots but i think i forgot my camera at my dads! Hope everyone has a great weekend and sorry no update on Tyler yet, except that his Echo came back normal! Still more doctors to see but until they are scheduled i'm not saying what they are because the one i can't remember! LMAO GOODNIGHT i'm thoroughly exhausted!

Doctor's, Doctor's and more Doctor's

This is an older picture but here are Tyler's new slippers he got from daddy when he had the flu a week ago!
Friday Tyler went to the gastrointologist for a 4 week checkup, his scale weighed him as being 18.3lbs, which means he only gained 20kilograms. The doctor decided to wait till the heart test results come back and see if there is anything wrong with his heart causing him to be so tiny and not gain weight. If there is nothing wrong with his heart causing his pettiness, he wants to send him to an endocrinologist for testing with his glands and more on the elevated phosphorous levels that Tyler has. (Nate expressed yesterday that he isn't crazy about this idea, and so we may get a second opinion before he goes to that doctor) If nothing comes from the endocrinologist then the doctor would like to do a NG tube, which goes through his nose and is a tube that we would use to feed him an extra meal after he was asleep at night. I'm not crazy about this being put in my son's nose or body for that matter, i honestly don't think he needs it. So i expressed to Nate last night that if it comes down to that, i'd like to get a second opinion. I talked to a friends mom who's baby (who is now deceased for other reasons) had one of these NG tubes, and she inserted into his nose each time she had to give him a feeding because she felt like it was really uncomfortable for the baby. That was before they found out the genetic disease he had, that killed him at age 2, but wow the way she described it, i'm really leaning more towards not doing it. I know that if he has to have it, i guess i'll just get used to it but wow its so scary to think about my baby having a tube tucked behind his ear and going through his nose, for two months. My sweet Tyler is such a happy baby, and seems so healthy except that he's way smaller then a usual 17 month old. Tomorrow i hope to get his results back from the Echo he had done last Thursday, i will try to update when i get them. Thanks for all the prayers and please continue them if you could, i truly believe God will make this all right.

Another long day.....

Sorry if you get lost, i really try not to jump around a lot but this one might, i'm still learning to write these and make perfect sense to other people.
Yesterday i got a phone call from Tyler's pediatricians office at 4:50pm, it was one of the nurses and before she even told me why she was calling she sounded super nervous, which made me nervous. She said hi i'm calling from Dr. steigmeyer's office and um... long pause, i'm calling about Tyler Lutz...um...we got his halter monitor results back and um...another pause, the Cardiologist from Riley feels there is something to worry about. My heart felt like it fell out of my chest, of course i don't want to assume the worst but...that's my baby she's referring to. So she goes on to say that he needs to be seen by a Cardiologist, and she doesn't know the details any more then that. Luckily for us, there was a Riley Cardiologist going to be in the office today, so i made plans for Kelsee to get to school with my mom and made the appointment for 12:15pm. I was a wreck and totally crappy to my family the rest of the night, i felt bad for not being nice but i just got told something is possibly wrong with my babies heart. It wasn't really that i was mean, i was just snapping at everyone and had no patience what so ever. Today Tyler was up at 7am, i did some cleaning around the house and took Kelsee to my mom's around 10:45am. By the time I got in the area for the doctor's appointment i was a half hour early, didn't do it on purpose but Nate of course said at least your not late. (i have a habit of that :) LOL) We get there wait about 15 minutes or so and are finally called, the nurse checks him out, measures him and says he's 30inches i say out loud hmmm Tyler you shrunk a 1/4 of an inch. So she remeasured him and got the right measurement, then off to the scale he weighed 18lbs 1oz. Finally the Cardiologist comes in and looks him over, and then starts to tell us what they are worried about down at Riley. His heart rate is a lot slower for his age, then it should be. When he was sleeping his heart rate dropped all the way down to 40 and should be more like 75 and, the highest it was when he was awake was 115 and should be closer to 150-175. She proceeds to say that she'd like to get an ultrasound done on his heart and think about monitoring him for more then 24 hours, more like 2 weeks or so. She is waiting on the ultrasound to figure out how we would do the monitoring if needed because, the machine is pretty large and he wouldn't be able to carry it around with him, or play like normal. She then talks briefly about if they find nothing wrong with his heart and no reason to believe he's not gaining weight normal or that his heart rate would be so low, they might put a pacemaker on him. SAY WHAT? So now i'm stressing over this pacemaker idea, my little son is only almost 17 months old..... We've also been stressing about the G-tube that the gastrointoligist might possibly bring up again tomorrow at his appointment with Tyler. I really think if it comes down to it, i'll be getting a second opinion for both because, although i want the best for my son, those just sound really invasive for surgery and very scary with such a tiny little guy. After the appointment, the hospital which is around the corner was able to get us in for a heart ultrasound (echo), that wait took forever. We sat in a dark room, watching Dora while Tyler sat with me on a hospital bed munching on animal cookies, and then got a sucker which he didn't end up wanting. He did pretty good for staying still for the technician but i'd say the ultrasound took about half hour to forty five minutes. It was a rather long day, and i was so glad to leave the hospital and come home. Only to clean the house and cook dinner, but sure beats a hospital or doctor's office!
On a happier note, my house is spotless at the moment and i'm super excited to see it so clean at the same time, i'm thinking no one better mess it up in the few hours we'll be home tomorrow! LOL I'm having a few ladies over on Saturday, and hopefully taking my mind off things for a little while, while the kids go to grandpa's for the night. Sorry so long, thank you everyone that wanted to know before i posted for waiting patiently. Still trying to process everything, and i'd even thought about not writing this till tomorrow.

Really quick

Tyler's tests all came back, except one. They were all negative or normal. so far. The only one we're waiting on now is the halter monitor, hopefully we'll get that Monday! This was a slow week until Wednesday, Tyler started coming down with something, and puked a half hour after dinner. Thursday was fine, except a low grade fever from Tyler and really small appetite. Early Thursday morning Kelsee woke up at 1:00am and just said she needed a drink and i put her back to bed. She was up again at 1:20am and apparently i fell back asleep quick, then she was telling daddy she was hungry and thirsty, so he got her a few goldfish crackers and a quick drink and put her back to bed. Again at 1:45am she was up and telling up she puked in her bed....so we changed her sheets, and her jammies and put her back to bed. Not 10 minutes later she was in our room again complaining her chest hurt and daddy took her back to her room, where she puked again on her bed. So a new change of sheets, and new shirt, and she was in the bathroom puking again. She by then had woke Tyler because their bedrooms are right outside of the bathroom, and she was still complaining her chest hurt. Tyler had also puked in his bed so i changed his jammies and sheet, and by then daddy had decided we were going to take Kelsee to the Er. The longer we took to leave the more i could tell the last time Kelsee said her chest was hurting and didn't puke, she was faking and we decided that i'd just take both kids to the dr in the later morning. So after daddy had called into work, we decided that he'd better go since we weren't taking Kelsee to the ER, not 5 minutes after he left Kelsee tried to pull a fast one on me and tell me her chest hurt. Daddy left for work at 4am, Kelsee was back up and had puked a little in her bed by 5:30am, so i put a towel in her bed since it wasn't a lot and only on her sheet, she changed her shirt again...and went back to bed. She was back in my room around 6:30am saying that she had just got done puking in the toilet, atleast she finally was awake enough to make it on her own but....she had woken her brother in the process. Tried to get her to go back to bed but she was wanting to sleep with me, and i said no way your puking, so i made her a bed with blankets on my floor. By 7:30am Tyler had still not went back to sleep, only calmed down for a little while, and she was also still awake so we all got up and started our day. She puked another atleast three to four times before i finally got us in the car and on our way to the doctor. Seems like every time she took a drink of her water or 7up she puked, so in the car i would not let her have a drink, but as soon as we got to the doctor she got a small drink. She wouldn't even walk so i had to put her in the stroller and Tyler in my arms, not an easy task. She puked again in the doctors office, just as the doctor and the med student came in to look at the kids and tell me they had the flu. That poor med student was the one that caught her puke in a little pink bowl, he looked so uncomfortable doing it. lol She puked on the way home in the little pink bowl, and then once again shortly after we got home. Neither her nor Tyler have puked since, and today they both ate normal and drank normal, so they are back to normal. This morning i wasn't feeling so hot and pretty nauseous, so i layed around most of the morning, my husband made me take pepto bismal and an advil for my 99.1 temp. He went out for 3 hours and when he came back said he wasn't feeling so hot, he's since then took a hot shower and is wearing sweat pants and a sweatshirt because he's freezing but won't take his temp because i won't clean the thermometer tip for him....MEN! He's also puked since then, so i'm pretty sure he's now caught the darn flu also...ugh i just hope we are all much better by Monday and i can clean my house and sterilize for next Saturday!!!! Sorry it took so long for all of you who have been wandering how Tyler's been doing, besides having the flu he's been great. He's weighing 18lbs now, but i don't feel that the appetite enhancing medicine is helping, so i'm going to ask when we go to the dr with him next Friday how long they will leave him on it, if its not making him want to eat more? Well i better get to sleep, with losing an hour in our time, who knows what time the kids will wake up. And better get my husband to bed since he's fallen asleep on the couch. Good night everyone!

Testing is done for now

Friday October 29th Tyler had a busy morning, I had to wake him at 7am. His appointment was at 8:15am, we got there a little bit early and had to wait a little bit. Tyler sat in his stroller and enjoyed watching the people around him, he was still pretty tired.
We waited for about 10 minutes and the lady came to get Tyler to do his upper GI, then decided to wait since Tyler had lab work to be done. About 10 minutes later the nurse came to get us for Tyler's lab work, they drew four viles of blood from Tyler but only one full one. She kept saying how she hates taking that much blood from babies and tries to get as least blood possible, or she'll do it in two days. She was supposed to get urine and catheterize him but she said because he hadn't drank anything since before midnight she wouldn't be able to get enough from him that way. So we were sent home with urine bags that tape to him, and she put one on him before we left. Then back out to the waiting room for a little while and then the upper GI lady came again. She took us back to the xray room and started to make Tyler's drink, she mixed it with chocolate mix after asking if i minded. It had a straw and he started to drink it but then that didn't last long, he would take a drink and quit so they weren't able to get the xray with him drinking to watch it go down his throat. He refused to drink laying down! Then i put it in the sippy cup i had brought for his drink after the upper GI was done, since he hadn't had anything to drink yet that morning before hand. He drank most of it out of his sippy cup after i walked the hall with him in his stroller, and she took some belly xrays. Then back to the waiting room....there was a little boy with his parents there for something, he was dressed in his pumpkin Halloween costume it was cute! Tyler was sure glad to have his pediasure in his cup instead of that yucky stuff.... He did great getting the halter monitor on for his 24 hour heart monitoring and he did great with it the rest of the day. I used 3 bags trying to get urine because i didn't think i had enough from the first bag, i never got it on right though so never ended up collecting anymore then 60cc. He slept fine with the halter monitor on, even though the wires and box was all tucked in his jammies!!! Daddy got a twisty tie and tied all the wires together and tucked them in the leg of his one piece jammies! We took the heart monitor back at 9:30am this morning and dropped off the urine sample, which ended up being plenty. Now more waiting to find out results, which i haven't found out any yet.....this waiting game isn't fun. I can't wait till its all done but until then i'm trying to stay positive and hope it all comes back negative and they just realize he's a small baby. Tyler got his hair cut today by Nana Rita and did really well, he looks so cute! Now we're waiting to go trick or treat, guess i should probably get around something for dinner, since we're leaving at 5pm till probably close to 8pm. Have a great rest of the day everyone! Happy Halloween!
ps. sorry for the book! I'm still learning to write these blogs!

Today was a very long day....

Today we got up around normal time 8:00am or so, had breakfast and got ready for what i thought wouldn't be too bad of a day. My husband (Nate) calls me before we are ready and grouches about me being still at home and that he hates that i'm never early always on time or late.. yada yada! LOL He also warned me that the winds are really bad, and it will probably slow me down. So we leave and the winds were not bad at all, until i got closer to Fort Wayne, which is 30 minutes from my house. On the way down i keep hearing about tornado warnings but there still wasn't one in Fort Wayne, so i stop for gas because i know i won't make it all the way to the hospital without it. Then after i get gas the rain starts and the closer i get to my dads to drop off Kelsee the worse it gets. By the time i get to my dads i hear over the radio that there is a funnel cloud in the sky spotted by the radar in New haven which is about 10 minutes or so from my dads. I get out of the car and the tornado siren is going off....ahhhhh then i freak! I get the kids in the house and find Rita (my dads girlfriend/best friend) and i ask her why she is not worried about watching the weather and listening for the siren? LOL She tells me i sound like her daughter but maybe its cause we are worried about it, and she'd rather watch the weather come in then worry about it...guess that's an older person's way of looking at it! LOL So i then decided that i was going to cancel the appointment Tyler has at the hospital and wait on hold for about 15 minutes or so, by then everything had calmed down and Rita's daughter is on the phone saying i should just go it is fine over in the area where the hospital is. So i get Tyler and go since i can't get anyone at the hospital on the phone, we showed up a half hour late and the people at the front desk send me to an elevator that looks like a house to go to Pediatric floor. I stand there for about 10 minutes and a few people came and waited but left, little did i know the elevator was down due to power being out in part of the hospital. So i go to another elevator and it works, then i get up there and have no idea where to go......a nice man helped me half of the way, but then i pass the house elevator and go through a door and again am lost and there's no lights on. Another nice man came out the doors i was supposed to go through and helped me figure out where to go. Its even darker in the Pediatric outpatient office...and there's no one there to register Tyler. About 10 minutes go by and finally the registration lady is back, she registers Tyler all by hand of course because there's no power and at this point they were saying it would still be down for 30-45 minutes. Then after all the paperwork was filed out she took us downstairs to the lab hallway, where i waited another 5 minutes or so for that lady to come. So by now i've been at the hospital for about 30 or so minutes and Tyler is getting antsy sitting in one place, then the lady explains what the Sweat test (chloride test) is for and how its done, and tells me we'll have to wait 30 minutes after she gets it started. YIPPEE! The lady cleans Tylers left arm, and places to electrodes to his arm (negative and positive) and leaves it on which is hooked to some machine for 5 minutes. When she takes them off the one closest to his arm left a red square which is normal, then she cleaned his arm again and put a piece of gauze over the red square on his arm and wraps several pieces of tape over it, so that no air can get in. Then she says it must be taken off in exactly 30 minutes, so i set an alarm on my phone for 1:20pm and went down to the cafeteria for some food to keep Tyler occupied. We finally left the hospital about 1:45pm, so we were there for almost 2 hours. Tyler and I got back to my dads to get Kelsee at 2pm, and i totally spaced on their 2 o'clock appointment at the pediatricians office for shots and and ear recheck for Kelsee, until 2:40pm. So i call the office and they were still able to get an appointment for the kids at 3pm, so i rush over there and was 5 minutes late and then waited another 10 minutes or so to be seen. Kelsee's ear's both look great no infection! Tyler did well with both his shots, and got a spiderman band aid and a bumble bee (from Transformers) band aid.
Here's a look at his spider man one before bed, he'd already torn the other one off. I tried to get a picture of the gunk on his arm that the tape left behind but it wouldn't come out good! Back to the appointment...Kelsee was next for a flu shot, and boy did she not want that shot. The whole time we were waiting for the doctor to come in, she kept saying and even cried at one time, i don't want a flu shot. But with her going to preschool i really think its safer for her to be protected. The nurse comes in the room, and Kelsee hides under the desk, i get her out and put her on the table and she's seen the shot. The nurse and i had to hold her down and take her pants down for her, so that she could get her shot on her thigh....wow what a nightmare that was. She almost kicked the nurse in the face and i'm sure the nurses ears were ringing when she got done with Kelsee's shot. Finally the day was coming to an end, and we were on our way home around 4:15pm. We came home got Nate and went to dinner with some family, dinner was oh so delicious and the kids behaved fairly decently! It was great to see family that we hadn't seen most of the year but by 8pm we were all ready to get out of there and head home. The kids were in bed almost as soon as we got home but before they went to bed Tyler played a little while Kelsee got ready! So glad the day finally ended, tomorrow i will hopefully find out the results of the Cystic Fibrosis test! Sorry this was so long, i hope i didn't bore everyone who read it!

Its MONDAY....

We are finally home from a trip to my father in law's. We left Wednesday for Michigan and got home yesterday afternoon, it was a nice trip! This week we've decided to start getting back on track with meal planning and eating healthier, and i am going to try to actually cook...! I don't cook too often, except things that don't need cooking like hamburger helper, or things you heat in the oven or on the stove. Should be interesting but i have picked an easy recipe so hopefully it turns out well! Not sure how i am going to have time to cook, with all the running around this week with appointments for Tyler. Today is kind of a more relaxed day except i had to do necessary house chores and make a few phone calls this morning while Kelsee was at the pumpkin patch with her class. Tomorrow the kids and I will be getting up early to take Kelsee to Grandpa's so Nana Rita can watch her while Tyler goes and does his sweat test, the testing for Cystic Fibrosis. Then in the afternoon Kelsee has a ear recheck and is getting a flu shot, and Tyler is getting caught up on his shots, so he'll get two. Wednesday, Kelsee is back to school and it should be a fairly normal day for Tyler and I. Thursday Kelsee has her class Halloween party, she'll be taking in Halloween tattoo's for her classmates! She'll be staying the night with her grandma Linda Thursday because Tyler and I will be getting up early Friday morning to go get his upper GI done at 8:15am. He'll also be having blood drawn for some lab tests they want to run on him, and he'll be catheterized to get a urine sample. After all that he'll be getting a halter monitor to monitor his heart for twenty-four hours. Saturday couldn't come any sooner could it? I'm ready for this week to be over and it has only just begun.....

Todays a day....

Last week ended kinda interesting and made me have a lot on my mind for the weekend. I thought today i'd have the chance to relax and stay home all day but, Tyler was super fussy and barely ate anything. So my husband Nate decided i should make a doctors appointment with his pediatrician to make sure he didn't have an ear infection, he's been pulling at his ear lately. So at 12pm i made an appointment for 4:15pm which gave me plenty of time to be lazy before 2:30pm. Before i go onto what happened at lunch, let me rewind back to Friday....Tyler went to a Pediatric Gastrointologist for his issues with gaining weight. Tyler only weighed 17lbs 8oz which means he's only gained 6 oz since his 15 month appointment which was about 3 weeks ago. So the doctor is definitely worried and says he wants to do more blood tests, other then the ones Tyler's normal pediatrician has done. He also wants to do a test where he swallows some liquid and they watch it through some sort of xray as it goes down his throat, to make sure nothing is blocking his swallowing, and a urine culture which they are going to have to catheterize him this is all going to be done November 12th. He also ordered a sweat test to be done, to test him for Cystic Fibrosis, which is going to be done next Tuesday October 26th. He has prescribed a medicine for him that will give him an appetite but also make him tired, so he'll take it for bed and it will help with his appetite during the day hopefully. I haven't went and picked that up yet, so i don't know if it works, but we'll know this week because i'm picking it up tomorrow. So all this information is kind of all overwhelming and my husband tells me to not worry until we get bad results...really? How does one not worry when their little guy has to go through so much at only 16 months old? Fast forward back to today....Tyler was given three choices of food to eat at lunch, macaroni with butter and Parmesan cheese, Campbell's chicken noodle o's, and Oatmeal, he wouldn't eat but one bite of each. How is he ever going to gain weight if i can't get him to eat, even with giving him two of his normally favorite things? So after he wouldn't eat, i figure well he's drinking his pediasure well, i won't worry about it and put him down for his nap. Got him up around 3pm and headed to the doctor, he was not a happy camper but both Kelsee and Tyler slept almost the whole car ride to the Pediatricians office. He gets checked over and no ear infection, so wasted trip but we're going away soon and better safe then sorry. I go to pick up his prescription from the G I doctor for the increase in appetite and find out they sent it to the wrong CVS, which is why i'm getting it tomorrow. Because by then it was after 5 and we were all hungry and live a half hour from where we were at. We get home and Nate has dinner done, so we sit down and Tyler ate a really good dinner.....apparently he'll eat good for daddy! :) Hopefully tommorow is a better day for his eating habits and Kelsee gets good feedback from her allergy doctor! Good night everyone, sorry if this is all over the place, this is my first time ever writing a blog!
